Hiroshi Sugimoto

The visibility of time is so apparent in the work of Hiroshi Sugimoto, for me personally I find myself entranced by his work, in particular Theatres and Seascapes…the images become time capsules for a passage of time which we are not privy to as the viewer but has happened none the less. In Theatres the screen is testament to the fact that thousands of frames of film have been viewed during the time of the exposure required to create this singular image, people were present during the film but within the time of the photograph they have disappeared….this I love!!
