Day 14 #marsdenartistresidency

August 25, 2014 at 9:02 am

Bit of a delay in getting this one up on my site as things are starting to get busy, we are about 6 weeks out from the show and the work is coming together and I am feeling good about it all. Lots of ideas buzzing around but they are all focussed and getting the work where it needs to be. My girls and I spent an hour on Saturday at the NZ Portrait Gallery, where the exhibition will be held so I could get a good sense of the space. John Denton head of Art at Marsden met me there and we talked through ideas. First impression was, well, it is big… bigger than anywhere I have exhibited before. Once I had taken some deep breaths and sat in the space and with the space everything started fitting together quite organically in my minds eye; of course Amélie and Indi were keen to suggest where they thought the food and drinks should be. Between us we should have it all covered, and that can only be a good thing.
